The Quebec Conference
Took place on October 10 to 27 in The year 1864 in the town of Quebec City
The Quebec Conference took place in Quebec City. There were representatives from the United Province of Canada, the Atlantic Colonies and Nova Scotia. This conference lasted over two weeks. Étienne-Paschal Taché was named chairman of the conference. This meeting took place where Chateau Frontenac is today. The result of this conference was the 72 Resolutions. The new central government would be a constitutional monarchy with the king or queen of Britain acting as the country's official head of state. The new country of Canada would be build on the basis of the 72 Resolutions. The 72 Resolutions were also known as the "Quebec Resolutions". The resolutions were the basis of the London Conference.
